This was an amazing project. It was a direct to video Christmas release for Warner Bros. There were over 500 effects shots that had to be done in 5 1/2 weeks. That sounds incredibly, even more so when it was done on time and on budget with a team of around 7 people. Mind you we worked long hours and had some pitfalls of lost shots but we recovered nicely. A great many of environmental digital snow were created and used throughout the story as was digital matte paintings and models. We did alot of compositing with a varied state of slap comps to all-out layer fests. Our software of choice was Alias/Wavefront Power Animator, Composer, and betaMaya and Avid Illusion and PhotoShop. A few guys used some betaShake for compositing. |
